About
Game history
Divorced Dads originated in September 2023 as a comedy sketch created by Graeme Barrett. The initial videos focused on parodying trading‑card pack openings, presenting a fictional card game built around common themes associated with divorced fathers. Early cards featured subjects such as household items, domestic inconveniences, and other everyday scenarios.
Following the release of these sketches, viewers expressed interest in the cards as physical collectibles. In response, Barrett began producing printed Divorced Dads trading cards. Although the cards were initially intended for collection purposes, the growing audience began to inquire about the possibility of a playable game.
This interest led to the development of Court of Chaos, which was officially released on March 27, 2024. The release introduced a complete trading card game system, including rules, card types, rarities, and playable decks. The game was designed to incorporate familiar elements of established trading card games while maintaining an accessible ruleset.
As the project expanded, its visual presentation evolved. Early card designs utilized a combination of hand‑drawn artwork, digital editing, and generative tools. Subsequent releases incorporated contributions from professional artists, updated card layouts, revised rules, holographic treatments, and additional product lines.
